Water Tower Two

The Water Tower Place condos sits above the Ritz Carlton Hotel is a famed building which was the former home of Oprah for her tenure in Chicago and is considered one of Chicago’s “A” level buildings. However, built in 1976, many of the units were ripe for reconstruction. The units, at 3,000 sf with panoramic vistas of the Chicago skyline and wide hallways, were often referred to as “ranch homes in the sky”.

Our Execution

Studio Veren knew the potential for these units was exceptional. We led a complete gut renovation of the 3000 sf condominium in the prestigious building. We installed key features that enhanced a sense of drama by expanded the kitchen to accommodate a 10 ft island all while emphasizing the view in each room of the home.

The Project

We incorporated recessed lighting throughout the entire unit; the laundry room was expanded to include a spacious folding area; a separate bar area was created to be hidden from the entertaining area. Each bedroom was re-architected to accommodate an ensuite bathroom and soundproofing. The interior design focused on a high level of sophistication using neutral tones, touches of Holly Hunt’s suit of interiors (wallpaper, lighting and furnishings) and custom made furniture.
